A hitman is a person which is dedicated to commit murders in exchange for money . That is why it is often said that a hitman is a hired murderer or a custom killer .
In these cases, the individual offers the action of killing another person as if he were a "service", in the sense that it is hired and gets money in exchange for accomplishing his task. The hired assassins, therefore, do not kill for personal revenge, religious motives, political issues or on the occasion of robbery, but they do so for economic retribution.
The hitmen obviously are subjects that are outside the law since they commit crimes . He who hires a hitman also commits a crime, even if he is not the material responsible for the murder.
The mafias they often appeal to hitmen to eliminate members of rival gangs, members of security forces or investigators who threaten their criminal actions. The hitmen also appear in the business of drug trafficking , either for the murder of those who dispute the sale of drugs in a given territory or to kill someone who does not pay a debt (the murder, in this case, can serve as a signal or threat to the rest of the debtors).
Although they act for money, hitmen can be involved in family issues or social that are not linked to business . There have been cases of people who hired a hitman to assassinate a former partner out of spite, without there being an economic intention behind the crime for the one who carries out the commission.
As with drug use, the channels through which a hitman should be contacted are not public knowledge. In fact, most people don't know that information, and this protects both parties. Needless to say, the job of a hitman is not pleasant, nor considered ethical , and making the decision to hire their services can end up with more lives than expected.
The controversy of the movie "Sicario"
As a proper name, "Hitman"is the title of an American film released in May 2015 at the Cannes Film Festival, written by Taylor Sheridan and directed by Denis Villeneuve. Among its protagonists are Emily Blunt and Benicio del Toro. The central themes of the work are drug trafficking and crime , and focus on the border between Mexico and the United States, where an FBI agent played by Blunt must collaborate in the growing confrontation of the US government and drugs. Del Toro embodies a consultant who accompanies them on a clandestine trip full of moments on the edge of the death .
Although in several countries, including the United States, the film was very successful, Mexico did not receive it in the same way. The mayor of Juárez, Enrique Serrano Escobar, was not very happy at the premiere, given that the story - he says - digs up part of the history of his city that he can generate a very negative propaganda for those who do not know that their current reality is very different. Such was the discontent of the mayor who headed a Bell to ask citizens not to watch the film.
The director's response was not exactly what Escobar expected, since he assured that the screenwriter had based the story on a deep investigation , which had included a job in the city itself in the company of a newspaper team and an FBI agent, which is based on the character of the British Emily Blunt. The controversy continued when Velleneuve assured that, although the film is not based on real events, it is something that could happen at any time, since Juarez is one of the most dangerous cities in the world.
