The word book It comes from the Latin bast, a term linked to the bark of the tree. A book is a set of sheets of paper or some similar material that, when bound, forms a volume .
According to UNESCO , a book must have 50 or more sheets. In the opposite case, it is considered a brochure . It should be noted, however, that there are digital books (the e-books , which do not have sheets but are files to read in a computer or on some specific electronic device) and audiobooks (the record of someone reading, so that the book is accessible to the blind, for example).
In general, every literary, scientific or other work is known as a book, which has the necessary extension to form a volume: "The Colombian Nobel Prize has presented his latest book", "My dream is to publish a book of poetry", “I always have a book on my bedside table”.
Thus, for example, there is also what is known as a seat book within the business or administrative field. This is a document that is used to write down all the issues that are considered important and vital. An example of this are the books of entries that exist in the different companies and whose mission is to be very useful for the accounting work.
In the same way we also use the term headbook colloquially. In this case that refers to the novel or literary work we have on our bedside table to read for a while before bedtime.
However, this expression is also used to define all those books that within a specific subject are considered to be fundamental bases and pillars of the same and that the people who dedicate themselves to it are essential that they know and have read.
In the educational field, we not only make use of the books of the different subjects, but there is also what is called the schooling book. This in particular is a document that is in the possession of the administration of the different schools and that is responsible for collecting in it all the qualifications that each student has achieved throughout their stage in those.
And, of course, we cannot ignore the family book that is the publication in which the data of a family is included in terms of the marital status of its members as well as the birth of their children.
The book concept has some more specific meanings or directly different from those already seen. The book is told script of a play (“I have to learn the book to play the main character”, “The book of this work is very complex and requires actors with personality”).
A book can also be a tax or one contribution : "It's time to pay for the books".
