Shepherd is the person what save and guide outdoor cattle . The term is usually used to name who is dedicated to the breeding and care especially of sheep, but also of cattle and goats, in the case of extensive livestock. Some phrases where the concept appears are: “Yesterday we came along the route and almost ran over a pastor”, “My uncle lives in the country and is a pastor”, “Some pastors establish very particular relationships with their sheep”.

The pastor's job is known as grazing , precisely because you must keep watching the animals while they graze. It is very common for these workers to take some dogs trained to obey their orders and lead cattle correctly. These dogs are known by the name of shepherd dogs .

Many dog breeds include the denomination of a shepherd because they have guidance capabilities for other animals. He German shepherd , also know as german sheepdog or dog Police , is one of the most popular races in the world. Possibly the most famous dog of this breed has been that of the television series of Rin Tin Tin.

In the field of religion , the pastor is a minister who has a congregation of faithful in charge . The concept is used in Protestantism and evangelical Christianity.

The pastor, in this sense, is the leader of the faithful and who leads the cult. Just as cattle herders are dedicated to guiding sheep, religious shepherds must lead believers on the right track. The religious pastor, therefore, cares for and nourishes the spirit of men.

In the bible there are numerous allusions to the term ; In the Gospel of John, for example, we can read "The Parable of the Good Shepherd." In it the speech is addressed to believers alerting them to those who try to coax the people with false words, and tells them how to recognize the true shepherd . "The one who enters through the door is the shepherd of the sheep"That caretaker is characterized by treating his sheep in a good way and getting them to listen and follow him without difficulty. In the case of the false shepherd, the sheep are not going to follow him because they consider him a stranger.

Later, Jesus (who is the protagonist of the parable) calls himself the pastor and assures those who listen that he will always be and those who approach him will be safe . He says "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives his life to the sheep."

Through this parable, the Church indoctrinates believers to follow their precepts. Those who do not hear his word will go astray (the way of sin); on the other hand, those who obey, like those sheep, will have a happy life in the service of God and inherit eternal life.

Regardless of what each one believes, the story of the good shepherd may have a certain analogy with what we want from life . If we get carried on the easy path, we will not be happy; On the other hand, if we fight for what we really want, we will possibly achieve a degree of satisfaction that makes us feel at ease with who we are.
